Foundation Board Members

Barry White, Jr., English Teacher, Ashley Park Elementary School, Charlotte, NC. Barry inspired us with those unique handshakes he created with each of his amazing students. We reached out to Barry to see if he'd like to try Chalkin' Social in his class, and, he quickly accepted because he loves engaging his students in unique ways and with unique tools.

Mieko Perez, Founder, Unconventional Foundation for Autism, Los Angeles, CA.  Mieko inspired us when our hats helped her two sons, one with non-verbal autism, communicate for the first time in years. Mieko is also the Education Director, at From The Earth Dispensary, teaching parents on some of the benefits of medical marijuana for autism and other ailments.

Dr. Vincent Nguyen, D.O., C.M.D., Program Director, CARES/Palliative Care Program, Newport Beach, CA, and, 2016 Humanitarian Award Recipient for Senior Care. Dr. Nguyen uses our hats with his staff when times are challenging and they need some smiles and added joy to their day.

Brian Dorgan, Director of Instruction, Harbor School, Eatontown, NJ helped us get proof of concept with Special Needs Students and continues to host a hat day at school where students write happy things on their hats.

David Schoonmaker, Partner, D+R Lathian Healthcare Marketing, Eatontown, NJ; Founder, Chalkin' Social®, LLC & Chalkin' Social® Foundation, Inc. Yep, that's me--happy to do whatever I can to help others!  But, it's not possible to follow through on all requests, unless we get some help from our friends and fans.

Chalkin' Social, LLC donates 10% of profits to help others with communication challenges and social media addiction.

Important Title 1 School Information:

If you're with a Title 1 School, Title 1 funds can be used to improve curriculum, instructional activities, counseling, parental involvement, increase staff and program improvement. The funding should assist schools in meeting the educational goals of low-income students.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, Title 1 funds typically support supplemental instruction in reading and math, which are two areas where Chalkin' Social® has been extremely helpful.
